Department:  Adult Day Health Services
Position:  Coordinator of Recreation
Hours:  8:30am – 3:00pm (As Needed)
Description:  The Coordinator of Recreation will be responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of the activities service. The Coordinator of Recreation will be responsible for developing and posting of monthly activities schedules, creating and maintain activities that are both person  and group centered. In addition, the Coordinator of Recreation will plan trips and community outings with the Social Worker and Program Assistant. The Coordinator of Recreation will be responsible for the documentation and continuous quality improvements (CQI) for the activities component of the ADHS. The Coordinator of Recreation must  provide technical assistance for all Annual IHP’s as it relates to creating a recreational/social goal for client’s receiving services through the DDD; documents and monitors all income and expenses for recreation; supervise Program Assistant during outings and group sessions; provides quality assurance oversight in the overall direction of the ADHS activities program. The Coordinator of Recreation provides detailed feedback for each client during bi-weekly meeting. Attendance in various agency, local, state and / or federal training is required.
Requirements:  A Bachelor’s Degree concentrating in Recreation, Creative Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Art, Art Education, Psychology, Sociology, Occupational Therapy or related field is required. One year prior experience with Persons with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Prior supervisory experience is required. A valid New Jersey Driver’s license is required.

Skill Instructor for Residential Program

1st Cerebral Palsy of NJ is seeking part time and per diem skill instructors for our residential program. Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a valid NJ drivers license. Must complete training classes as required by 1st Cerebral Palsy of NJ and DDD. Some Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working with adult consumers in a group home setting, assisting adults with daily care needs, enhancing consumers self-sufficiency, carry out in house and out of house group activities, accompany consumers to various medical appointments, and ensure the safety of consumers.
